ClimateImpactsOnline provides information on possible impacts of climate change on the Congo river basin.
The Congo River Basin is one of the most significant ecological regions in the world. The basin is located in Central Africa and spans about 4 million square kilometers, making it the second-largest river basin in the world after the Amazon. It covers parts of nine countries: the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Angola, Uganda, and Rwanda. The Congo Basin is home to the world's second-largest tropical rainforest and a region of immense ecological and economic significance, but it faces challenges related to environmental conservation and sustainable development. Web-based tools can help policy and decision makers, scientists, as well as farmers to better respond to climate change.
Additional information on cities' locations and water at different administrative level is available to understand the local impacts.
