Central Asia is one of the regions most vulnerable to climate change. Green Vision Central Asia (GVCA) is a regional initiative, funded by the Foreign Office of Germany on the topics of climate and security in Central Asia and Afghanistan, aiming to enable regional dialogue on climate change impacts and risks.
Through Green Vision Central Asia, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research will deepen the scientific understanding of climate impacts and risks to water availability, agricultural production and security in the region, and will contribute to strengthening local climate capacities.
Specifically, the project is working towards capacity building in 4 different aspects: Climate, Water, Agriculture, and Security.
